Nikon Vs Canon

Yep thats what I thought so bought a d7000.

I wish I had seen that first though would have saved loads of time researching.:lol:
 
I prefer Canon to those two myself

Nikon- high end ISO performance, great autofocus

Cannon- in the right hands will give the taliban a good skelping
 
I prefer to measure in Inches and centimetres, Not by camera makes :P

I went to make some popcorn before I opened this thread. Once opened and with fresh popcorn at hand, I didn't quite find what I was expecting. Still, entertaining content all the same!...Oh and Canon rules OK! :thumbs:

To be pedantic though, It really depends on the intended use, for photography a Nikon is always going to be the best option. If, on the other hand, you wish to launch a heavy spherical object over a great distance then the Cannon referred to in the thread title is going to prove more suited to the job ;)

Though in this case, the cannon does have a more manly actuation noise than the nikon :D

Ah, you're referring to the industrial sabotage from Canon- fortunately only a few lenses were harmed and the mole dealt with...;):lol:

Say what you like about canon, but if this is them infiltrating other manufacturers, then they certainly have the best espionage people :D
 
My old lecturer told me other companys "copied" canon's white coating because amateur's wanted to show off their fancy pro lenses at a distance.

I like the white coating. I don't know why, but if i could get all my lenses white, i would :)

And i know, im a weird guy, but hey its only abit of fun :)

That's basically what it is, advertising.

Canon's large lenses are easily recognisable in sports stadiums and things, just gives them a bit of free advertising because they'll get noticed.

Other manufacturers do make white lenses, but canon's ones are the only ones you regularly see.
But to be honest it works both ways, it's easy to tell the nikon super-tele's cos they're the black ones.
 
I personally hate white lenses, and im a canon user!

I was talking to a paparrazo about the white lens thing and he told me he had his taped over with gaffer tape to stop him getting rumbled when long-lensing celebs...
 
Or he could just buy a lenscoat like everybody I know who owns a massive super-tele :thinking:

Something that big and heavy, I'd have a lenscoat on it whatever colour it was to protect it from scrapes and scratches.

Cosina make white lenses with red writing. Look just as stupid as the canon ones. Lenses should be black. White is one small step away from tacky silver!
