Nikon warranty help please

If i were to buy a new Nikon camera which is un-registered and a Uk camera but it does not come with the original receipt, if anything were to go wrong is the camera covered at all?

if its still in date i should think the serial number will be enough

You need proof of purchase (not necessarily a receipt) from a UK Nikon dealer, otherwise the warranty is null and void

Sale of Goods Act gives you rights, provided it's a UK (or EU?) retailer. Fund the purchase with a credit card, and you can also take it up with the card issuer. If you want Nikon service then you need a receipt from an authorised dealer.

With no original receipt I guess this is a private sale?

i had to send warranty card and receipt yesterday when i sent mine back
they seem very strict and unbending.
