No
Looking for a back up body to my D750, I don't mind if FF or DX, something decent so happy to look for second hand or older models. Price around the £300 mark.

Any suggestions?

I'd suggest a D300 or D300s. Can get a very good examples for that price just now.

I've got a D7000 as a backup to my D750, simply because that's what I'd upgraded from.

Ame for me. Off to the photography show tomorrow to see if they have any good deals on lenses so I can upgrade to FF lenses

Looks like a D300, possibily a D7000/D7100 at a push. Prefer the slightly smaller size of the 7000 series.

D7000 probably makes most sense with a D750 as your main. Same batteries (I think, don't quote me on that) same cards and similar layout. Nothing wrong with the D300 either though of course, but given your main camera it probably makes less sense :)

Your right about the batteries they're the same. So a big advantage to my way of thinking

Yep D7000, D7100, D7200, D600, D610 and D750 all take the same battery. Keeping the same battery, same memory cards (SD and not CF) and I'm guessing most accessories would be the same too (remote cable etc). He D800/D810 has the same battery too but doesn't have the same connection as a d750. It makes more sense of a backup to have a D7000 over a D300. Nothing wrong with a D300 just you would need to buy a second set of accessories to run both a D750 and a D300.
