nikon wide angle ED Lens

hi guys looking for an ed not dx lens for my camera i know i have a d90 but planning to upgrade to fx soon so dont want dx lenses, i was looking at the 18-35 is this lens very good? or any alternatives? goin to wales for 8 days so going to be doing alot of landscapes etc

perhaps a 17-35mm, quite hard to get hold of, but a great lens. Mine was £500 second hand (well used, but perfect optics).

this is the one i was looking at but not sure, have got 1000's to spend unfortunately

The best lens optically is the 14-24 but obviously you can't use nd grads, pols etc

The Nikon 17-35 f/2.8 is a legend, and probably one of my favourite Nikon lenses - I held onto mine for ages after I sold my Nikon bodies - it was that good!

The 16-35 f/4 VR I think is over-priced - too expensive for an f/4 lens.

The 18-35 isn't that hot - its easily out-performed by the Tamron 17-35.

In fact, if you want an optically excellent lens in case you do go FF, I think the Tamron 17-35 will fit the bill very well
