One of my friends is in Australia at the moment and will be in Kuala Lumpur shorty and it gonna see what price a Nikon D90 if for me.

If he buys one from there and brings it back here then would it have a warranty with Nikon over here or would it not have one due to being brought from overseas?

Thanks.

I seem to recall that Nikon's are sold with an international warranty and are validated by the correct payment of import duties. This is how UK retailers offer cheap grey import lenses with nikon warranty. The rules for private imports may differ.

There won't be any warranty

1) Warranty is only applicable to the original purchaser (your friend), and is not transferable to you.
2) Nikon body warranties are not International.

**WARNING**
Please be wary of dealers claiming to be able to sell or provide you an international warranty for digital equipment when you are purchasing from overseas, or from importers. THIS IS FALSE . International warranty for these products is unavailable.

OR you could support your local dealer who can offer help and advice as well as a point of contact should you need it.
If you import the goods instead of Nikon UK you should assume you take the liability that Nikon UK would take if you gave them your money via a UK dealer.
