Im having trouble getting it off HSS and on to reas curtain sync with my 1000D

Can anyone help please?

Surely you set the cameras flash menu to rear curtain and then set the flash to E-TTL. I've just checked my Nissin and I cant find a dedicated rear curtain setup on it. Theres Auto, TTL, M/AV,Multi, Wireless and Setting icons on the flash. The rear curtain setup is on my 550D flash menu, not sure about a 1000D though. Go to www.nissindigital.com to download a manual to help.

If i go to my flash menu and put my jessops flash on i can set it on the camera but i cant with the Nissin

I've just been having a play about on mine. Turn it on, go to TTL setting and press set, when display changes then press set button and hold it for a couple of seconds and you get the advanced TTL mode where you can set subflash, curtain, manual zoom, high speed and bracketing. I knew I'd seen another menu on there at sometime. You should be able to do it now.

My pleasure, I knew when I read the problem that I'd seen it on the flash but couldn't find it. Was bugging me and I fell on it by chance cos I had my finger on the button and didn't know what else to press when the menu changed. Nearly fell off my chair laughing.
