Yes
Has anybody owned or used a Nissin Flashgun looking for some opinions please.

My Nikon SB600 got broken a couple of weeks ago the guy who broke it has offered me the cost of a new one.

I went into Jacobs the other day and seen the Nissin one which has the same guide number as the Nikon but is a load cheaper and was thinking about buying that and putting the rest to a 2nd hand lens.

I don't use flash very much as most of the stuff i do is gig photography but i do still need it occasionally for other stuff would the Nissin be an ok choice?

which Nissin one is that?

i'm thinking of the sb600 over the sb400 as the sb400 doesn't have rotating head.

main use for me is indoors bounce lighting as really not a fan of the inbuilt flash

I have a Di622 compares well to the sb600 which I also have.

both expose correctly, but Nissan are rubbish marketng their product

I have a pair of Di622’s they work really well on the D300. The optical slave is a bit hit and miss if the cell is not in a direct line of site with the camera flash. They won’t work with radio triggers at the moment, but I understand there is a free firmware update from Kenro to solve the prob. If you are buying new make sure they have the update. Construction quality is good, they have a plastic mount but to be honest I would rather beak an £80 flash gun than the top of a D300. I would not spend £200 on an SB600 now.

Nissin also make brakes for Nissan (and a lot of other cars and bikes too)

hmm interesting

how about the jessops one or other non manufacturer branded ones?

would this work on a d90?

I recently got a Nissin Di622 and its a cracking flash for the price!

There worth the money, its a great little flash, but you can get them around £75 from ebay new, or around £60 second hand.

will it work on the d90?

what advantages does a sb600 have over Di622

Nice one thanks for all the replies! Looks like i'd be as well getting the Nissin and saving the rest towards my next lens.

Yep 75 quid on Ebay sounds perfect

Hi,

I have been interested in buying one of these to work with my D300. I see a video of someone on Youtube modding one to be able to fire using a radio trigger although his way of doing it looks like hard work and lots of faffing about soldering:

Just went to check out Kenro's website and see that it's down, is there a firmware number that applies to the new update so that If I happen to see one for sale second hand or elsewhere on the net I can quote if it has the update?

Mike.

Think I shall be saving some pennies towards one of these!

Would be nice to hear of anyone using one with a D90 for their comments, as I'm looking to purchase a D90 soon :)
