No
sold off all my gear bar a couple of filters :(

not really used it much of late and needed the cash so it had to go. on the brightside I'm not locked into a system anymore so when I come to buy again it's going to be quite a tough choice. Started off with a canon 300D 6 years ago progressed through a 20d to 40d then 5D2 with a good few lenses. hate to think how much money I've actually spent on camera stuff in those 6 years.

Sorry to see you go, mate, but am sure you'll be back - once that photography bug bites you it's hard to get rid of it....

Get a film camera, cheap as chips, keep your hand in.....

I also sold all my gear recently as I needed the money.

Getting back into it - or will once the camera i bought on here has been repaired :bang::bang:

Sure youll be missed Ross, good luck with what ever you do, be sure to pop back from time to time to catch up,

BTW, Thought goodbye threads weren't allowed though

same here . the more I've learned about photography the less I take pics. sold my digi stuff. will shoot maybe a roll of 6x6 a month. and that's optimistic.

I'm not saying good bye I'm just being an attention whore lol.

I'm thinking of selling my kit at the moment. I just don't use it.

didnt think it was a goodbye thread, more of a 'i dont have anymore gear' thread...

Look on the bright side - if it was a goodbye thread Matty would have had to lock it!

Now you can freely continue protstituting your plight for attention - as mentioned above

I still have valuble knowledge and sarcasim to provide

Ive sold all my kit more times than I care to remember for various reasons, usually financial.

Each time Ive come back bigger and better. Hope things pick up and you can get back in the game.

Goodluck, man. Tough choice. Hope you succeed in your new venture. I'm sure you'll be back sometime as they eye never stops looking. :)

I tend to enjoy your input to a thread. Sometimes I wish I wasn't locked in to a system. (actually, I think I wish I just had the money to run both Canon & Nikon !)

Cant imagine not having a camera, even if it was a point & shoot.

I have never thought that having a lot of gear necessarily makes you a better photographer. In fact there is an argument that you have to work harder to get a better photo with a simpler camera. I have seen some great photographs taken with a point & shoot and even a few camera phones.

when you come back perhaps you will buy some decent nikon gear ;)...mark.

having been spoiled with the IQ from the 5D2 its going to take somthing special to make me buy it. there are certainly no crop cameras around that I like the IQ of and the D700 has not enough resolution for me.

.... and the D700 has not enough resolution for me.

Why? What the hell do you do with the image files, make billboards? :D

I have 2 Nikon EM bodies sitting around - just bought 2 sets of light seals for a DIY refurb

If you would like one - just say so - you could add a cheapo Nikon E series lens...and shoot some film

it would be great to keep you on TP......john

Hmmm. Can one call ones self a photographer if one doesn't have or use any gear?
Is it a bit like calling yourself a Biker and wearing a leather jacket, even though you've not ridden a bike for 30 years?

Hi John thanks for the offer but I have an eos5 but I'm not interested in film, its too much of a faff and TBH expensive.

I'm not leaving the forum either

Once a photographer - always a photographer - you are no longer a camera owner - that's all.

5DIII :)

I'm not one to condone reproducing another photographers work illegally and I'd stand up for my own or any other photographers rights should their work be infringed.

exactly.

my aunt can ride a horse. :gag:

Togging comes from inside your soul, it is not defined by the equipment you have or haven't got.
