No serial No.

I've owned a Panasonic G7 for a couple of years but never got around to registering it.

Updating my profile I've just discovered that the label on the bottom has not been completed with a serial number on the lower right hand side.

All my other bodies have the wording Model No. before "DMC G**" but this not on the G7 label

Is there a way to use the menu to find a serial No.?

Do I have dodgy camera?

Hmmm!

When I, years ago, got my Canon 350D it was one of the first batch in the UK...........................it was reported in reviews and confirmed Canon that the serial number labels had an issue, the serial number was getting rubbed off by simple abrasion against camera bag linings or the users clothing.

I covered the label accurately with sellotape.

So just possible that a batch of labels like the above have crept into production every so often???

Also shows up in Lightroom as part of the displayed EXIF data

Apparently label abrasion is also a known issue with the G7:

It looks like you can't get this serial number from the EXIF - the G7 records a separate internal serial number.
