Some interesting effects in the sky in the first one from the cloud shadows. I also like the 6 way diffraction spikes in both of them. I think I prefer the second one as the soft gentle colour in the field offset the brighter orange colour of the sky and I think it feels a little more balanced (if that makes sense).

I much prefer the second one. The field works really well with the sunset. Excellent shot. I might have preferred slightly more field and a little less sky which may have lost some (or all) of the vapour trails. How picky can one bloke be? He wants the vapour trails removed from a great image.
The other challenge to your finely honed skills would be to ask for the images to be the same size; and even better to a standard aspect ratio. That's usually where I get the razz in the ear, but no harm asking.
