Noise reduction software recommendations

Hi guys, I was hoping to use your valuable experience and find out which is the ideal or best noise reduction software to use? I have recently upgraded to Lightroom 4, would you recommend purchasing a stand alone noise reduction programme or a plug in and if so which is the most effective one to use? Investigate Nik Software's Dfine. I use it (as a plugin in Aperture) and it's superb.
