Noisy OS on a new sigma 150-500

Hey all!
Relative purchased one of these before Safari Nikon fit.
It seems to me to be very noisy when the OS is switched on. I have a 24-105 and the IS on that is whisper quiet. On the sigma you can hear it even from a few feet away and I just wondered if this is normal?

I've had several IS and OS lenses ranging in price from around £200 to £4000 and there is no clear trend in noise, whether across brands or even across the same lens model. Pointless comparing. If it works well (and it does, very well!) and doesn't bother them then I wouldn't worry. I've owned two 150-500's and two 24-105's and all sounded different.
 
I have the Sigma 150-500 OS on a Nikon, and it is certainly noisier than a Nikon 70-300 VR (OS) lens. It performs just as well though.

Thanks for the responses guys - put my mind at ease as I recommended it after owning the 170-500 non is.
She has got some seriously stunning shots with it so I was pretty sure all was well.
