One of my canon batteries ain't holding much charge any more, it came with the refurb'd 1D I bought a couple of years back and its abit battered. So I've been looking around for a replacement battery.

The OEM's batteries are around £120, so after abit of research and recommendations from TP members the 7-day shop branded batteries at £15 look very tempting.

The question I have which has been mentioned a lot on other forum's with these non branded batteries, is that although they work (most of the time), the battery fit ain't perfect and there are doubts about the weather seal with these non branded batteries.

As I take said camera out in all weathers has anyone had any problems with these non branded batteries when the weather gods are against us. Would be interested to hear members experiences

I've got two Calumet batteries which came with my 1DMKII and two of the 7DayWonders of which you speak. Whilst accepting the probability that the Calumets have had a long hard working life and may possibly have been included in the sale of the camera because they were past their best, I go for my 7Day batteries every time. I am not a professional 'tog but they hold charge, they give plenty of life, they recharge cleanly and they fit the camera better than the other two. (And yes, if I ever upgrade I know which batteries I'll not be reluctant to part with.)

The 7Dayers are such good value that I was tempted to buy more but frankly I'll just not need them until such time as I use two !D bodies and need to carry 2 batteries per body.

HTH?

I use 7 Day Shop batteries in my 1D, excellent batteries. The last ones I got through Amazon, they still came from 7 Day Shop but only £12.99 each.
I will see if I can find a link.
