Starting to wish I bought some more batteries a few months ago for my DJI PHantom 3 when the prices seemed to be around £80 for a genuine battery, now they are £124!!! There are batteries available circa £50-80 but I wondered if anyone had tried them to either make me think this is a good idea or a bad one?

Cheers in advance

No one tried non genuine batteries that can share any experiences?

I generally don't mind aftermarket batteries but for something that will fall out of the air if the battery fails I'd rather not.
Exactly the reason I haven't tried to save the cash yet......for fear of saving £75 and loosing £450........

There is always a risk that firmware updates will cause a mismatch because the batteries have firmware too.
Since the Phantom 3 is heading towards legacy status, updates will become less frequent as most issues have been sorted and attention is turned to newer models.
I find three batteries is enough and could manage with two - especially combined with a way to charge from a vehicle so would go for the DJI ones
