I want to set up a blog but not a photography one. It will have photos in but it's meant to be a story of my GCC

What do people recommend?

i use (when i say use, i consistantly fail to update it on a regular basis) wordpress. seems to do everything i want it to do.

Thanks Neil, I've toyed with the idea of Wordpress as there's an app for it for the blackberry so is easy to update. What's your site?

Has anyone got examples of blogs they've seen that they like

it'll take about 2 mins to look at, i think theres all of 2 posts

it really needs overhauling ideally, the theme is boring and the content needs updating regular.

no worries, you can get different themes or completely custom theme it if you really like though.
