Hi all,
New to the forum here, referred by a friend :)
Looking to get a starting setup to take some holiday snaps when travelling in a couple of weeks and then afterwards to break me into the photography basics.

Been offered:
Sony A200 Body
Sony 18-70mm lens
Sigma DG 70-300mm telephoto lens
Kingston 4gb CF card
Sony official DSLR carry bag

For approx £250, can anyone recommend or advice towards or against this deal and any pros/cons of the gear on offer?

Many thanks :)

Thats a good deal. The A200 is one of the best entry level dslr's made IMHO. It'll do you right in auto and scene modes (or better, use program) until you get the hang of PASM modes as long as you keep ISO at reasonable levels (iso800 is pretty much high as it will go albeit quite noisey but usable although 1600 is usable if you are knowledgable using various noise reduction techniques in software).
