Feel like I need help on these, did use a mask to help differentiate the non-core milky way part(?). When I've tried to find information about editing night photos they are seem to be milky way core itself.

I'm not looking to go down the astro rabbit hole of trackers and telescopes and the like, tripod and D3300 hardware and lightroom software is my limit.

I think that's a geminids in one of them, can't see the winglights etc normally get with planes.

I guess this is the winter Milky Way up here in the northern hemisphere? It is quite faint and there is not a lot to being out. I would say you’ve done a decent job, keep any brushes / mask soft and build up opacity. Use contrast / curves, some people use clarity but personally I stay away from it.

If you are using photoshop a high pass filter on a duplicate layer can be useful to being out contrast in the MW, but you need to change blending mode to overlay / soft light.

The images would benefit from a bit of foreground.
