Hello my laptop (Samsung r540) recently updated and since that update I can no longer save and photoshop runs slowly. A message pops up saying “could not complete As command because there is not enough memory”. I’ve tried so far
Updating elements 15, currently running 15.0.
Deleting laptop update.
Restoring laptop to earlier date.
Anybody have any suggestions for a fix?
Thanks in advance.

Morning,

Looking online it seems a few people are having this issue. I presume your laptop does have 4gb min ram?

If you are confident amending the registry you could try

Or

Try this first

If your running windows 32 bit then below only applies to windows 64 bit version. The max windows 32bit will take is 3 t0 3.5 of RAM. You don't say which windows platform you have

research shows
Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit so below should apply

According to this spec your laptop comes with 4gb of RAM on 2x2 chip.
Seems that it will take up to 8GB of RAM ,my guess is 4x4 chips .

So that means getting two 4gb chips as the computer only has 2 slots and no spare slots.

So going by that I would see about swapping chips over which should solve your problem

Looking at this

It appears to be a straight unplug old chip and put in new.
If in doubt on how or not have the tools to undo the case then pop along to a computer shop and get them to do it .
Have to say it must be one of he easiest upgrade jobs to do on any computer, if you can put a mains plug into an electrical socket, then you can replace the RAM just as easily.

Just make sure you get the right 4x4 chips. Always change both as they are a matching pair

Is virtual memory restricted? If so it may be worth increasing under settings to see if that helps. (Just leaving for work so will leave you to google if you need more info on how to do it).

others have suggested altering the BIOS/registery on your computer ,something I would not do as it makes your computer work at its near or maximum, you would not drive a car flat out all the time. But who am I to say don't?

Thanks for the replies, it’s windows 10 I believe and 64 bit and 4gb ram.

Nick the upgrade in the video is a "go" then. More RAM you will certainly notice.
