Not impressed Tamron AF 28-75mm

Bought this from here, and well not very impressed with the focus on the lens. At times even when at F2.8 focusing on a subject about 6 feet away then change to something slightly closer the focus doesn't appear to do anything. (and yes its on AF)

It may just be me, has anyone else had problems with this lens?
 
Sorry to hear that Gary; this is one of my most respected lenses for the D700. I assume that your camera can AF the lens by screw drive ?

Could be, you got a wrong 'un, but I would dig a bit deeper if I were you. When working, the lens is outstanding for the price.
 
None at all, I found it a very good lens.

I would get in touch with WEX and get it sorted.
 
Well Phoned WEX, and as usual customer service is excellent and they will swap it. :)

Like you say maybe just a wrong un.

:plusone: I also tried 3 before finding a truly sharp one ... but boy was it sharp :thumbs:
