Edit My Images
No
I have recently changed my camera & have entered this months tpoy but i dont have any exif data on the photo on my photobucket page, i have the data on the other shots i have taken with the sony nex but none for the canon 550D. I have had a look in the 550D manual but it doesnt mention exif data nor does it on the camera menus, unless im missing something.

Any help would be appreciated :)

You'll ahve stripped the exif data somewhere along the line, how are you importing/editing your images?

Did you use "save fot the web"?

Well - the camera definitely generates EXIF data, it'll just have been misplaced by some software or other along the line in your workflow. If it's just for the POTY competition, I wouldn't sweat it, half the people in there seem to have problems one way or another with keeping it.

Perhaps you could give us a step by step of your workflow, from taking the picture, through to posting the shot on TP ? That way we may identify the step where the data went south.

I just put the memory card in the reader & save it to my pictures (win xp) I used PSP Photo X2 for PP & I upload the shot directly to photobucket as I have done for all my previous entries but those shots were taken with my sony nex.

I dont know what this 'save for the web' option is but I had never used that with my shots from the nex & they were ok.

A quick google shows that there may be a potential problem with PSP Photo X2 and Some Canon cameras if shooting RAW...

Here

Save for Web is a process in Photoshop, which is notorious for stripping EXIF details. As you're not using PS, don't worry about it

Thanks for the info Mark :) You mention that photoshop has issues too, I also use elements 9 so i'm not doing very well am I :(

The only issue with photoshop is the "save for web" option - if you use "save as" and change the type to .jpg then it'll preserve exif. To be honest, I'm not sure if elements 9 has the problem as I've not used it - I thought it was a CS4 problem to be honest, which had been fixed in CS5.
