Not sure what lens(es) to choose

I bought 5d3 three months ago and now it's time to buy a lens as the only one I have to ff camera is 85 1.8 (i used to have an old and cheap sigma 70-300 but accidentaly dropped it and now zooming ring doesn't work and it stuck on 70mm - i don't think it's worth to try to fix this). I used Tamron 17-50 2.8 a lot on my old 400d. I have been saving for some time and can afford Tamron 24-70 2.8 from grey market which is around £700.
In the mean time new sigma 35 1.4 came out and it messed with my head a bit. I really don't know what is the best option right now. Either buy Tamron 24-70 only or my recent idea is Tamron 28-75 2.8 (lots of people are happy of that lens performance) and Sigma 35 1.4 (which buying both on the grey market will be slightly more than Tamron 24-70).
I didn't mention that I would like to start doing events at some point along with the stuff I do now. I never needed anything longer than 85mm but i know If and when I start doing events I might need something with longer focal lenght.
As i mentioned about events can someone tell me how is af in Tamron 28-75 acting comparing for example to Canon or new Tamron 24-70? Is it gonna be suitable for i.e. Weddings?
I just thought about one more set up of sigma 35 1.4 and sigma 12-24 as i know I might be missing some wide angle on Tamron 28-75. It's more expensive combo but I want to buy 12-24 at some point anyway as I do architecture and landscape a lot, so I could save a bit more if this seems to be better option.

If we're me I would go with the sigma. A 35mm f1.4 and 85mm 1.8/1.2 is an absolute killer combo for weddings....assuming you are well used to shooting with primes.

The sigma is getting great reviews atm aswell.

Yeah it's a killer lens (at least thats what the reviews are saying :) ) and i love primes (finally appreciate my 85 on ff and with fantastic af in 5d3). But is it better to buy tamron 28-75 to that just to have some versatility or to save up more and buy sigma 12-24? I think 28mm might not be wide enough
 
depends if you find yourself ever actually needing a zoom? Primes are good if you have the room around you to make them work (or YOU work I should say) in those cases a zoom is ideal. Also you say you have never needed more than 85mm, I assume this was on crop body so on FF you may find 85mm is no longer enough? Maybe not though I don’t know. I have the Canon 24-70 f2.8 and its a great everyday lens, can’t comment on the sigma/tamron equivalents as I have never used them but from what I read I don’t think there is masses of difference in the two. The 1.4 aperture of the 35mm will, of course, be a big benefit in low light concert style photopgrahy but then the ISO capability of the 5D3 is pretty good so again, do you NEED it for that reason? Suppose if you buy them at the right price and you don’t like them then could sell them easily enough without loosing tons so nothing to loose really.
 
You won't be disappointed with Tamron 28-75. I borrowed my Son's lens for the day, was well impressed with the results on my 5d mkII, I would say on a par with my 24-105 L

That's great news... I'm sold for sigma 35 and tamron 28-75 in case i need zoom... Price will be sligtly bigger than just tamron 24-70 but i will have 2 lenses instead 1...
 
Isn't the Sigma 12-24 a DC lens? I'd stick with the 24-105 L to be honest my other half swears by her lens.
 
I also swears by my 24-105 L. it nails the photo every time perfectly, it's my go-to lens for mid-range zoom and it. If I were to have a single lens, it'd be this one, it works so well for every situation.

the Sigma 12-24mm is not crop (Sigma marks them as DC). it is a full frame (DG) lens. It is the widest rectillinear lens money can buy, but I hear it's not as sharp as first party lenses like 17-40.

No 12-24 is a FF lens and I red very good reviews about it. I love ultra wide angle in it and quite small distortion as for 12mm...
I don't like f4 in 24-105 and would rather go for tamron 24-70 instead. But i really like a nice bokeh thats why I have decided to buy sigma 35 1.4. I just hope i won't regret it :)

f/4 with IS on a 5d MkIII and you don't like..... Why?
