Whilst going through a "cant be bothered to pick up aa camera" phase, someone said to me whay dont you do a project. I'd moved to Birmingham in the early 70's. I had no real interest in photography but took "snaps" and for some reason I toom a lot of images of Birmingham back then. So I set off on a task to duplicate all the photos I took in the 1970 / 80's in the modern day. Just to see if anything had changed.

Apologies for the 70's images, most would have been taken with a Zenith EM or a Pentax ME with not a lot of knowledge or skill

This one was taken by Phyllis Nicklin, a photographer from the 60's who wandered around Birmingham taking random pictures of anywhere. Her collection is now housed in Birmingham University and photographers regularly go out to try and duplicate her images in modern times

Mine was taken in 2018 when I took a photographic group for a trip under Spaghettin Junction in Birmingham
