Nowpublic.com. I think this may have been mentioned before but can't remember who posted it.
I received a email today from Nowpublic.com :-
Hi,
NowPublic is running a news story on seabird breeding
failing in EU and we’re trying to put together a
collection of photos of seabirds. If you're interested in
sharing your photo, please follow the links below and feel
free to add your own comment as well. Looking forward to
seeing your work on the site!

The photo in question is a pair of kittiwakes and I did see a article on breakfast tv today about their decline. It's not the best photo in the world but they must like it enough to want it. I don't think it's worth much but hell if it attracts a few more to my flagging Flickr gallery of crappy photos then
is it worthwhile. ?

This is the photo their after http://www.flickr.com/photos/50387619@N00/2518946870/
Anyone here that is a member of their site have any problems with spam from them, they would get my throwaway address anway.

I posted what I considered to be a worthless snap to one of their stories a while ago. I haven't had any spam or contact from them since but it didnt increase my flickr visitors either.... Linky

I had the same kind of email from NowPublic and I don't want to burst your bubble, but they do a search for seabirds and send an email to everyone that comes up. The photo will appear on the news story until someone else gives permission (about 30 seconds in my case) and will then join hundreds of others in a gallery in which it moves down page by page hour by hour.

It is a cracking photo, but Now Public are a waste of time IMHO

... and why do they not pay for the use of YOUR photo...? I'd be like Marcel and say no!

I posted before about this site. I'm signed up, and occassionally someone asks if they can use a pic (just gets attached to an online story), and I say yes. Gets some extra traffic and viewers to my flickr :)
