NYC Timelapses

Stunning, especially the newest one with the TS lens in use.

The best timelapse video I've seen happens to be of New York.

Every time I watch I see something different.

Star trail thing is the same process as making a still but it's made a film clip using the still images as frames on the movie. 24 photos for one second of footage. Good thing about shooting startrails is to get a final still and a movie

Also you need to make the movie in the star stacking software so it holds onto the previous frames otherwise it'll just appear as motion without the streaks

I think that's possibly the best time lapse I've seen to date...up there with the Yellowstone one IMHO;

Is there a resource on how to shoot time lapse photography?

I have many questions...not least of all how they manage to pan the camera so smoothly while shooting!

Thanks & kind regards,

There's a ton or resources out there, take a good look around on YouTube and Google etc.

As for the smooth motion, people generally use automated motion control dollies. The one used in the Yosemite video is one like this

It can be done digitally afterwards in PP but you are limited by the size of your originally images and the scene you framed if you know what I mean.
