Does anyone have one of these, if so do you have any example shots with ISO? Preferably one's from outdoors.

I bought one the other day, as they've caught my eye, but I'm yet to use it. I have a shoot tomorrow outdoors, so I was tempted to use it, but I'm not too sure.

Anyone else got/used one? I did a macro test shot with it and it was good.
 
I have one of flashinthepans flashes, the £40 one I think. They should be ok with one of these O-flash attachments shouldn't they? I've been haggling with a seller on ebay and have so far got them down to £19.90 delivered....got to be worth a punt at that price surely??!!

With normal ringflashes (the uber expensive ones) then yes they will probably give guide numbers.

I think you are drunter und druber with your calcs. With any flash GN = D*A.

I bought one to see what they were like (paid much more than that), you'll notice I'm not selling them........
 
I have one I bought for a project, gave great results I was more than happy with it. Now that said I've harldy had reason to use it since:(

The O-Flash is rubbish.

Not to be confused with the RayFlash or the Coco Ringflash, which seems identical to the RF but cheaper. Then there is the original RingFlash Adapter which I have, which looks similar but is actually completely different inside. They all work well :thumbs:

The illumination isn't even and it sucks about 5-stops of light out of the flash. That's why they're being sold off cheap.

The Coco is a rebranded version of the Ebay ones it's not identical to the Rayflash :shake:

I've not actually tried a Coco but those that have say it's a RayFlash in all but name. Certainly looks very similar on the outside, with a slightly different angle on the top? Inside may not be the same.

The Coco is not a rebranded O-Flash though. They're completely different.

Now I've had to go and hook mine out to see exactly what it is. It's also the original Ringflash Adapter so I'm happy:)

I bought one while on on a trip to China for about a tenner and used it with my SB800 a few times when shooting out and about the results varied but for that sort of money it was ok, the only problem I had with was keeping it attached.

Ha ha I think I've been haggling with the same bloke.He has the make me an offer button on his ebay account and no matter how many offers i make him he will not budge from £19.90:D
 
The bit that reflects the light (that piece with logo) is in fact cardboard...
So haw can it reflect the light without loosing much light?

I found this thread, the guy modified this adapter with tin foil and improved light transition.

I am still thinking what to do.. the idea of ring flash was always tempting but I know better ways of getting rid of £20!

Do you know any suitable alternatives?
Is Coco any good?
Orbis looks and performs nice, but don't you think it is a bit overpriced?

It looks like a RayFlash clone, but is different inside and not nearly so good.

The RayFlash is prolly the best, alongside the rather more cumbersome Orbis.

I have the RingFlash Adapter, which is again a completely different design inside (bought it before the RayFlash became available) and that is really very good for both macro (up to 1:1, not over) and portraits/fashion. You lose a fair bit of power but with a decent gun and 400ISO-plus, it works well.

It's a bit flimsy, but then they all just hanging off the flash. Advantage Orbis there.
