Off camera flash cable?

Am after one to go between a 5d/40d and a 580II/430EX... will the same cable work between all combo's of those 4 items above? Also, does anyone know the part number of such a cable please?

i would guess it would be the same, a sync slot one end and a hotshoe the other end. but i dont know the code, sorry

or official canon Off-camera Shoe Cord 2

or there is also Connecting Cord 60/300 (60 cm or 3m) with TTL Hot-shoe Adapter 3 or Off-camera Shoe Adapter OA-2.

there is plenty of cheaper alternatives.

the 580 does already have a sync slot so you could just use the connecting cable.
