I want to start using my flash off the camera for a few ideas that I have.
I dont want.. cant spend the earth..
I have a Canon 450d and a Sigma EF-530 DG St flash. (not think it has infa red)

As far as I can see, my only option is this http://www.warehouseexpress.com/product/default.aspx?sku=1027354
But it can only extend to about 4 feet away..
Would it be possible to splice the lead and add extra cable.. or is there other options that I can choose from?

Thanks :thumbs:

Cheap eBay triggers should do the trick, can pick them up for under £20 now I think! Wireless too :)

Maybe post in the wanted section to see if anyone is flogging a set of Cactus triggers?
The new V4 is out so you might be able to pick up a set of V2 or V2s.

Wireless triggers so now problem with cable length.

I don't have the V4s, but can definitely recommend the Cactus V2s from Gadget Infinity.

ok found this on the V2's
Sigma EF-530 DG Super, EF-530 DG ST (for Nikon only), EF-500 DG Super, EF-500 DG ST (for Nikon only), EF-430;
works for nikon only? poo

also do you just get a reciever? I have no idea how these work.... heyulp

Hey Trev

The Catcus triggers from Gadget Infinity work via the hotshoe without a problem - you get a receiver and transmitter with the startup kit but can buy extra receivers if you need them.

They also work absolutely fine on Canons!

Check out www.strobist.com for some tips on off-camera flash.
