Off Camera Flash question?

Hi guys,

Just after a little clarity here. If I had two 580EX II's and one ST-E2 is it right that I could fire them both with no other kit requirement? i.e the 580's don't need receivers as it is built in?

Also, would this work for one 580 and one Sigma EF-500 DG Super from one ST-E2?

Anyone clear this up for me please?

Yes. You need a master unit, and a remote gun with E-TTL slave function.

ST-E2 is a master, 580 is a master and slave, Sigma Super is a master and slave.

The there cheaper guns suitable for remote working that just have the slave function, eg Canon 430EXii and other third party jobbies.

I was pondering over this, my 580exii has the facilty to fire as master like the st-e2 so why not just get 430 ex's that can be slaves in different groups.
As I understand it you should be able to use it then in ttl.
