Hi, I want to get my flash off camera could any of you please advise which remote would work for me, my camera is a Nikon D7000 and a jessops flash. Or would I need to invest in a Nikon flash.

Trish - you can buy a set of triggers which will be beneficial but also; majority of the time, I set my camera pop up flash to manual power and set it so it won't add to the exposure (1/128th - 1/16th generally) and put my flash(s) on slave mode. You then set the power of your flash (in manual mode) and you have off camera flash.
 
Why don't you set the on camera flash to '--' so it doesn't fire anything other then command signals rather the messing with manual mode?. If the tiny amount of light it emits in this mode you can always cover it with an old film negative.
 
I just bought a Nissin flash and Nikon SC-28 extension cable, the flash would not work off camera, a trip to my local shop solved the problem, using Nissin cable, so I would take both camera and flash to shop to make sure your chosen cable or remote trigger is compatable, I went for cable as I didn't want to have to carry spare batts for wireles remote. Your D7000 may remorely trigger a Nikon Speedlite, if it has built in infra red.

Was that aimed at me? If so - I don't have Nikon flash units so CLS doesn't work with my jessops flash units.
 
Thanks for your help, had a play earlier and I've managed to use it off camera :)
