Im heading off to Skye on Sat after trying hard to get to Mul, which proved impossible due to the Mull Rally. So swapped plans and will head to Skye. Im staying on the banks of Loch Snizort which is about 7 miles from Portree and not to far from Dunvegan.

Im interested in wildlife so if you can suggest an area for birding and also would like to see the Red Deer whilst im there.......

Cheers Arclight. Plans changed from Skye to Mull back to Skye again. I have had a look on that site a few times and found another more specific to the area im going to.. Seems like Loch Snizort is tidal and in low tide mudflats are exposed which leads to several types of waders coming through that area---just 500 yards from where im staying...

Good, it's a great place if you are lucky with the weather.

Near Dunvegan Castle there is a seal colony, dunno if they are still around this time of year, during summer time there are boat ride which take you very close to them. If they are still around, you should be able to still see them from shore.
There are other similar services if you google seals+skye.

Have a nice trip up there!

i have been to skye twice..once from kyle when it was a ferry, and once from mallaig

i was a biker then and took all my shots as memories

my best as i can remember is the open ness and wildness in the area of the cuillins

those i would like to see.
