Yes
When i bought my laptop it had a 3 month trial of Office 2007. I have since bought the 2010 version, when i bought it i asked if i needed to remove 2007 version, he said no the new 2010 will overwrite the 2007 version. So i went on his advice what I am finding now is that in the windows updates it is still updating the 2007 version which is no longer there, what advice can you give me please as i no longer need 2007 updating.

2010 wont "overwrite" 2007 it will install to a separate location.

look in your add/remove programs its probably still there.

edit - office 2010 installs to program files/microsoft office/office14 where 2007 installs to same path but office12 folder if i remember rightly

Just checked it does not show in add or remove programs, it is deleted. In the programme files x86 i can see folder 12 with another folder inside 1033, is this what i need to remove?

I had the Office 2007 trial on my computer but uninstalled it and have since installed Office 2010. I also get the 2007 updates because the Office12 folder is still there, but it's not causing any problems so I think it's better leaving it as it is!

It appears to be the Powerpoint viewer and compatibility packs that are triggering my updates - probably the OP's too.

Ok thanks Charlie, i will have a read at that article. Sometimes my 2010 is unresponsive, so i wondered if it was due to office 2007 updates conflicting.
