Oh no another wedding thread ...........

After reading this thread I volunteered my services to Mike, who kindly agreed to let me assist him. On the day Mike was very helpful we ran through what he wanted me to do and the shots he wanted me to shoot, mostly candids and some from the back of the church. When we arrived at the church I was very nervous, but Mike was very cool and directed me to what I should do, as the service went on I calmed down a lot and when we moved on to the reception and I was shooting mainly candids I felt a lot more at ease. To me it was a great day where I learned a lot from Mike and most of the time it was good fun, though a little nerve wracking at times.

I would say that if you are interested in wedding photography and get the chance to assist at a wedding jump at it, it is a real experience with a lot less pressure than being the main photographer.

Although I will not be rushing to do another wedding I value the experience that I gained and the lessons I learned.

So many thanks Mike for a great (but very long & tiring) day.

Well done, you survived your first 2nd shooter experience.

It's great to get this sort of opportunity. I'd like to gain some experience working in this field a little more too.

Survived but very tired at the end of the day. I don't envy people who do this for a living.
