:O

I've just taken the plunge and purchased a 50-500mm Sigma Ex DG HSM in 4/3's to marry to my e-620..... Quite a bit if cash, but not as much as any Oly lens that came anyway close to the focal length! Also, I was tempted for the 1.4x Oly converter, but losing the light stops on a 4/3 system is baaaaad news.

Bought from Bristol Cameras and got a good price without any discrimanatory shipping to Northern Ireland unlike some retailers - so that was nice. Should be here for Sat morning, so hopefully in time for my next outing to my usual birding spot for a test run.

Can't wait - argh I've no patience!!!!!

The new one has OS but near the £1000 mark, i was going to get it but opted for the 150-500 APO HSM DG OS @ £628. OS gives you 3 stops more handheld, it should be a great lens nonetheless in good light :)

Yea, the OS is meant to be good on the 50-500, but maybe you guys could answer me this one query :

The e-620 has Is built in to the body, and this new lens has OS, so onviuosly one will need to be turned off. Which of the two is the best, in-lens or in-body, or does it not matter?

The benefit of in-lens OS is that you see a nice stable image through the viewfinder, which can help composition. Enjoy your new lens!

The lens will not have OS in this mount.
