Just spent the day doing a shoot at the local zoo for a project and i have just wiped the card thinking i had saved them to my laptop..........been given a program called zero assumption digital recovery to try the rescue.......apparently it can take up to 48 hours to run......:gag:

If you have just deleted them try Recuva - free download.
The normal scan is pretty good and quick, the deep scan takes a bit longer but is more thorough.

even when I have copied to my laptop I leave them on the card(s) until the job is done or there is a backup to another HDD

many a lesson!

my Lightroom automatically asks me to transfer images as soon as I put an SD into my laptop. saved me a few times already !

Doh!

hope you can recover them

I once shot for a few hours in NewZealand before realising I didn't have a card in :/

luckily the weather was better the next day and I got nicer shots :)

If you're stuck I recently bought a couple of Sandisk cards and got RescuePro with both of them. I only needed one of course so I have a spare serial number. If you need it drop me a pm and I'll send you the link and serial needed to install it.

cheers

Thanks for all the advice and support fellow togs. tried recuva but it fail to find anything so i stuck with the original option softare and so far it has found most the images.8-)

good news - at least you're getting somewhere positive :]

Great pic and glad you recovered them.

Will you change your system now?

probably will change the system but i just dont know what too !? i am open to suggestions....

Glad you got them back. Recuva is a good quick program but, as you found out, it has its limitations.

How long did it actually take? 24 hours seems a heck of a long time. I recovered 8gb for my friend last week (her daughter wiped the card) that only took about 45 minutes-ish with card recovery.

5 hrs isn't too bad although it's another 5 agonising hours waiting to see if they're all recovered :p
