Ok then , converter help needed

I am off to Mallory next month, to a trackday, the longest lens I have is a canon 300L f4, will a 2* converter be of any use to me, bearing in mind I loose 2 stops, anyone got this combination?
It will be on a 5D, and will be my first attempt at fast moving action shots from a distance
any advise appreciated

A 5D will not AF below f/5.6 so a 2x will be manual focus only. The 300/4 takes a 1.4x well...

You dont need a really long lens for mallory. Take your 300, and 70-200 if you have one?

Yes, a 1.4 will give you 420 f/5.6 that will still AF
