Was that taken with your D90 & Tamron 90mm ??

I'm presuming you "fridged" the little fella or was he dead?

However you captured him, it's one superb shot. Well done!
 
Here's how it was done and what with :)

Nikon 105mm 2.8 VR macro lens with 12+20+36mm extension tubes. Handheld using TTL flash at ISO 100, 1/100 sec, F51

Found this hover sheltering last night and brought it indoors on a piece of paper, placed it on kitchen worktop (shhh don't tell the missus :nono:) where it decided to wash itself. Once i had took a handful of shots i took it back outdoors. Hovers can be quite compliant :)
 
very nice with pin sharp focus, good lighting and the black BG sets it off really well.
 
Great image makes me want to use my new 105mm purchase even more. But I will need lots of practice to even think of putting any results on here now!!:)
