Of military provenance. Wonder where it came from. A barracks or POW camp, I should think.

Quite a lot of these became village halls.

Definitely. There were thousands of these huts, along with the familiar round corrugated iron Nissen Huts, no longer needed after post-war demobilisation, and the were eagerly bought up by farmers (and parish coucils) all over the country for a multitude of uses.

Some of these units were built buy Boulton and Paul, we had quite a few of these on a poultry on a small farm i worked on, they had no military history, they came in as new for holding Chickens & Turkeys.

I'm not saying this in the picture was not used as Military or POW etc, but some originally built for different uses..
I beleive some holiday camps used these as well.
