I have no experience with older lens', but I was wondering if there are any older manual focus prime lens' renown for there picture quality worth looking out for that will work on a 40D, or can easily be converted? I'm interested in them for portrait stuff so suggestions around the 85mm/135mm (maybe 50mm) mark would be great :D

cheers,

Rob

There's masses of M42 screwmount lenses out there, which you can use with an adapter.
The Pentax Super Takumar range is a reliable bet, but the best of breed go for what you may consider is silly money.

thanks for the suggestion photon - I see what you mean about silly money... 85mm 1.8 - £350... doh :(

Thanks Andy, I have noticed your add and I was tempted, however for that kinda money, I'm after something a little longer in focal length :)

Cheers though!

Jupiter-9 or Tamron Adaptall-2 90mm?

I have a few, they are cheap fun !
