i recently purchased an olympus om10 from ebay. i got a load of lenses with it, some of which are telephoto. i cant seem to get them to attach to the om10 body. im a complete rookie when it comes to this. am i meant to have a lens adapter or something like that? help massively appreciated!!

If they're OM lenses then there shouldn't be any adaptor - just line up the red dots and turn clockwise, to remove just press the little button and turn anti-clockwise.

There is a red dot on the lens mount and also one on the camera mount, these need to line up.

Once you have lined up the red dots, offer the lens up to the camera body and the slots on the lens should line up with the mount in the body. Turn the lens clockwise (looking towards the front of the camera).

Removal;

If it is an Olympus lens there will be two silver coloured push in buttons on the side of the lens at the mount end. Looking at the front of the lens they are positioned about 1 o'clock and 7 o'clock. These need to be depressed before you turn the lens anti clockwise for removal.

There is a chance that some of the lenses are in need of an adapter. There was a popular setup call ADAPTALL(2) by Tamron where they would release an adapter plate for each new mount eg Canon, Nikon F, Olympus OM etc then they could release new lenses and only have to make one lens which people could then use with the adapter.

If you have this setup then one or two of the lenses will have an ADAPTALL plate attached to them which you would need to remove in order to attach it to another lens in order to mount it on the camera. Can you take a few shots of the kit so we can see? Even if you are totally film based a few shots with a mobile will let us advise you better.

cheers guys, i appreciate the quick replys. il get some pictures up of the lenses after work. thanks again
