Bought this one sometime ago, but found out the CF memory card slot had a few bent pins, the seller gave me a huge discount, and I decided to keep it for £18, it only has just over 300 shutter count,I had another one with a faulty battery compartment, it would work until you closed the battery door, so I'm doing a transplant of the smaller motherboard that holds the memory card slot, I'll be replacing the clock battery as well,a new one should last around 10 years.

Apart from a load of screws, there's a little bit of de-soldering to do.

Hopefully I'll be able to get everything back together and working.

De-soldered the two points on the motherboard, I decided to leave the ribbon cable attached and just remove it from the main board, just makes things a little easier, now I'm just waiting for the replacement lithium battery to arrive, this is the battery that keeps the date and time correct when removing the main battery to recharge it, apparently they last around 10 years, probably won't make the price higher when I sell it, but should make it easier to sell, as there's quite a few out there for sale, if all goes well, and everything works when I put it back together, I might replace the battery on my own camera. 20260831_123450.jpg20260831_123440.jpg20260831_123433.jpg

Good on you for going where others might fear to tread.

In regard to the button battery, is that a spot weld (or two?) that I can see on the terminal tab

They come with the tabs spot welded to the battery, and then you just solder them to the motherboard.
