Olympus E-P1

A member of my family is thinking of getting this camera.

I wondered if you guys had any opinions good or bad please?

I've not long got the E-PL1.

Had the GF1 before and it was a great camera, but the downfall with these is low light stuff....it shows noise pretty easily. If you don't print big, then happy days.

I considered the E-P1, but spec-wise the E-PL1 was better in a lot of ways, but didn't have the build quality and i agree. This isn't a big thing though and i got a Lumix 20mm lens to fit onto it. Built in stabilization and f1.7 is glorious. Not cheap mind you...i'd probably get an NEX-5 if i were to chose again...or if budget is lower for your family member, maybe the NEX-3 is another option.

yes for low light situation the NEX-5 is the winner, also consider the NX-10 because it's like the Sony NEX series except it has a hotshoe for flashguns and triggers etc.
