I've got a 620 that I've been using as a travel camera. It's a pretty good little camera and is the best small SLR Olympus have out at the moment. It's a good step up from the upgrade from 420. The main differences are the image stabilisation, the movable screen (which I think is great) and the autofocus. All make a pretty big difference.
I've just changed for a PEN EP2 for my travel set up and I've not looked back (including getting a few birds in flight (although the hit rate was pretty low).
It probably depends on how many, if any, Oly lenses you've bought. If you haven't bought any, then you can look at other systems. If you've got a couple then it's a pretty cheap way to go. You can probably get a second hand one for £150 or so and the Oly kit lenses are pretty good. The controls will also be familiar.
