Olympus EM1 mki stuck

Hi all, I hope this does not sound stupid.
I was taking a few pics today when I got a problem, I took a picture and the camera just had a black screen and made a whirring sound, like the focus motor just going round and round ??.
I turned the camera off and back on, but still have the black screen?. It is a freshly charged battery.
Any help please, cheers Andy.

Just a thought......

Have you tried taking the battery out for about 5 minutes and then putting back in?

If not perhaps try that and then say how the camera behaves?

Just put the battery back in and tried to take a shot, just got the exact same thing again lol, so waited 5 minutes then tried with a different lens and all seemed ok,??
Whether it was the lens that was the problem I don't know, but I wont be using it again on this body, sticking to Olympus lenses.
Just for reference I was using the Lumix 45-150 kit lens, when I switched back to the Olympus 40-150 kit lens, all seemed fine again??.
Could it be just a lens issue??.

Try cleaning the contacts on the lens and body, it may just be the two can't talk to each other 100%
