Olympus EPM2/EPL5

Hi,

I'd be very interested in anyone out there who owns one of these cameras to share their thoughts on performance in the round.

Seems to be little on t'internet.

Particularly interested in comparisons to Panny GF1/3 and X100 if possible; I'd be looking at pairing the body with Panny 14/20mm initially.

Robin Wong did a nice review of the EPL5 as a street camera. The pictures look super sharp with great Olympus colouring. I considered the EPL5 and EPM2 but in the end couldn't cope without the viewfinder so have purchased the OMD. Have you looked at Steve Huff for reviews? Sarah

Thanks Sarah - been to both ports of call already - worth noting that Robin makes a statement early on in his review that all the photos have undergone PP so difficult to get any idea of OOC ability.

I suppose I'm looking for a real world view from a local snapper!

I have an olympus EP-2 and a Panny GF3. I also had a GF1. Image quality is near identical on all three.

The EPL5 is a massive improvement on the EP2 so conversely would be a massive improvement on the GF1/3. It is my understanding the basic sensor in the EPL5 is the same one as the OMD just not as well stabilised so you can get a few ideas by looking at OMD images...
