Hi all

Looking to pickup a flashgun that works in TTL mode with my Lumix Cameras, G5, G6 & GX7

I have found a few Olympus guns that would fit the bill but only if they work on m4/3 cameras

Would any of the following work correctly with my Lumix cameras

FL-36, FL-36R and FL-50R.

Thanks

Paul.

I used a fl36 with a lumix G1/GF1 and a G2 all in TTL. Its a great little flash but a bit slow to recycle as it only uses 2 as bats.

The Lumix G6 is capable of wireless flash with the FL36R, FL50R, FL300R and FL600R. The Lumix G5 will not do wireless but the flashes will work on the hot shoe along with such as the FL36 and FL50. The first Lumix Camera to adopt the Olympus wireless system was the GH3 and the G6 followed. The GX7 is also capable of integrating with the Olympus wireless system.

Another peculiarity of the G5 is that the pre-flash cannot be turned off. When I use mine with Studio lights with a wireless remote, the lights have to have the capability to ignore the pre-flash, some do, most don't. The G6 and GX7 might well behave in the same way with regard to pre-flash.

I second the Metz flashes, a great flash for not a lot of money second hand. My Metz AF 48 AF-1 is user firmware update-able and fully compatible with the Olympus wireless system. Hot shoe only for my Lumix G5 but wireless off camera flash capability with my Olympus Pen E-PM1 using the tiny supplied flash as the master. Four batteries so a quick recycle but is quite a big flash. Most of the higher end Olympus/Lumix specific Metz AF series have the wireless capability
