Olympus MJU 1050SW - shutter speed adjust

I've picked up a waterproof digital (Olympus MJU 1050SW) as I wanted a small, tough and waterproof compact to snap away when out flyfishing.

A quick shutter speed is useful for trying to capture leaping fish etc, i've used the 'sport' setting which gets me up to around 1/250, but i know the maximum speed is 1/1000. Does anyone know how to programme this in for those shots that need to be pretty quick (despite the lag associated with focus)?

many thanks

Try putting it on M? and having a play?

If that fails there is a reason why it comes with an instruction booklet... :)

Try it on Tv mode and dial in 1/1000. If it's bright enough then the camera should set the right aperture and (if it's on auto) the right ISO.

It all depends on the light levels though.
