Super image Robin has lots of mood to it .
Yes I keep watching them too It looks like the perfect long range zoom although I would need a EM1X too as i sold all my Olympus gear just depends on how the bird detection works so i'm on the fence about it .I like that with the 1.4 tc on you have even more Long zoom range + the in built tc to add if needed .
Rob.
.... Thanks Rob!
Yes, re the 150-400mm Pro, that built-in 1.25x is undoubtedly extremely easily switched as all the videos prove - Yet another example of Olympus ergonomics (which attracted me so much to the E-M1X). There have been a number of times when I have either wanted to add or remove my MC-14 from my 100-400mm and 1.25x isn't hugely different from 1.4x when you also have zoom. [Robin is not doing a very good job of dissuading himself from wanting a 150-400mm Pro!].
I always avoid mounting/unmounting TCs when outdoors as it exposes internals to the elements etc. It's partly why I have a second body at hand.
Not long before the Bird Detection Tracking feature is downloadable! Only 10 more sleeps?
I should investigate the existing Face/Eye Priority AF option which already exists and how well it might track distant surfers although black rubber suits provide a lot of the contrast needed. I am finding that AF Tracking works well and note that Tracking and Face/Eye Priority cannot be selected to be both Enabled at the same time. I might try Face Priority AF and see what happens although surfer's faces are usually at distance - I might need Head Priority AF!
