Olympus OM-D.....

Not going to be DSLR as far as I'm aware, think it's a m4/3 mirrorless with an evf that sits under the pentaprism.
 
Well it won't be a DSLR it'll be m4/3 but it certainly looks promising, It's gonna take me a while to save up for one to add to my OM collecion mind!
 
It would be only worth the consideration if it was an actual OM camera, full frame sensor and an optical viewfinder. The mirror wouldn't hurt as these cameras were tiny anyway. They could use OM mount with some updates perhaps, and put a digital sensor in it. Given the price this looks impossible. APS-C sensor might be plausible, but this almost certainly looks like yet another m43 reusing an old and noisy panasonic sensor. At this stage this improvised marketing gimmick starts to get boring in the light of their corporate cockups. I hope they prove me wrong on this.
 
Considering the OM1 was one of the smallest 35mm film camera's ever made, it seems fair that it'll be a m4/3 camera.
 
I'd be quite happy if Olympus made a digital back to go on my OM2n...

It can't be that hard, surely! :shrug:
 
If it uses the newer 16mp sensor compared to the old 12mp one used at the moment by Olympus it will be a massive improvement. That sensor in the new Panasonics is very good and can do ISO-whatever with relative ease. Not that it would make much difference if you were able to stick a fast 1.8 50mm etc on there, with the super fast AF now on these cameras it should be a great street tool.
 
Really can't wait for this, been following the progress on 4 3 rumours.
Its really sounding promising. Some great specs too by the looks of things.
Might just be what olympus needs right now. But im betting this camera has been in research and development for a good while now though.
Panasonic built sensor designed by olympus. Supposed to be new sensor technology too!

1) “The improved dynamic range is a result of the new sensor“. -> In response of my question if the higher dynamic range was a result of a software feature or new hardware design.
