Olympus OM-System S Zuiko Auto-Zoom 100-200mm 1:5

With that range and f-stop you're looking at something older than the zooms starting at 70 or 80mm and going to 200 or 210mm but with a variable aperture of ƒ/4 - 5.6 for the cheaper ones. Constant aperture zooms would all be faster (ƒ/4, ƒ/3.5 or ƒ/2.8) and more recent ones limited to a 2x range were all specialist portrait zooms or wide angles.

So, there's nothing at all special about this lens, but if you need it and are comfortable with whatever the price is then try it, bearing in mind that £20 more could get you a respectable performer.
 
OM-EOS adapters can be had for about £10-15 off of ebay. I got both of my two from there (one with autofocus confirm) and they fit fine.
 
I used to use an OM-1 and the Zuiko lenses are really good. However, I have tried an OM-EOS adapter onto my 40d and tbh I cannot get on with the minimal focusing information. Having been brought up on a split image, a little red dot just does not do it for me... There is not simple way to say nearly, not quite, just a little further, stop without shooting past the focus confirm flash.

I know other people have different experiences, but that is my thought.
 
I used to have this lens when I had an OM-1. It is slow, and bulky and heavy for hand-holding, so I could only use it when the light was really bright to allow me a fast shutter speed with Ilford FP4 (B&W, ISO 125). As a result I didn't use it very much, but in suitable conditions it gave very sharp results.

Worth a try if you didn't have to pay very much for it.
 
Its not bulky compared to a 70-200 f/2.8 i don't think.

Of course not, but it is a much slower lens. I was mentally comparing it to something like the Nikon 55-200 which is more of an equivalent.

It was the first lens I got after the standard 50mm 1.8, and on the small light OM body it felt rather unbalanced, particularly at 200mm. I didn't want to lug a tripod around and without modern aids such as VR and autofocus I found it difficult to hand hold at slower shutter speeds.

I too have a 200/f4 and its a lovely lens, I've not used it since I went digital (Nikon so no adapters) which is a shame as I always enjoyed the pics I got with it.

I have to say my experience with zuiko zooms is limited but I never really liked them, maybe I just couldnt use them properly.

It will probably end up on here or ebay one day.

I've still got one of these. The only OM lens I have that I do not like.

Its big (unlike most OM lenses), slow and it 'slides out' when pointing down, I understand this can be corrected with thicker grease or something but as I don't like the lens I've never bothered.

I've got an OM/Canon adaptor, but this is not one of the lens I've ever used with it.

Indeed. Given that the only investment I had in Canon was my 450D and kit lens, and an OM-EOS adapter, that factor alone was enough to make me not even consider the alternatives when I went full-frame. I now use a 24-105L as my standard lens, but those taken by the Zuiko 200 f/4, and with my Tamron SP AD2 macro are plenty sharp enough. My Zuiko 50 f/1.4, whilst not the sharpest, gives a much more pleasing effect than my Canon nifty-fifty too. Just a pity Oly dumped the OM system really. 4/3rds has its uses, but can't really hold a candle to a full-frame sensor...
 
i dont know anything about this lens but ive got zuiko 28mm F2.8, 35-70mm F4, 75-150mm F4 lenses and an EOS to OM focus confirm adaptor off ebay and they work a treat.

i really must break out my OM-20 at some point, im sure its got some film in it that needs using up lol
