I have a couple of Zuiko lenses left from my film days, a 50mm f1.4 and an 85mm f2, both in mint condition. Should this have any bearing on whether or not I buy an OMD?
 
You could always get yourself a nice little Olympus film camera...:whistling:

I use old lens on my OMD all the time and not just OM ones. Adapters are fairly cheap and of course the OMD's IBIS means there all stabilised. In fact its become a bit of an obsession especially the wider ones up to 50mm. Getting reasonable at manual focus now and you can get some great glass for, in some cases, a few quid.

Bear in mind that you will need an adapter regardless, but you can use these wonderful lenses on Olympus/Panasonic m43 cameras (with a 2x crop factor, which may limit you), Canon EOS (1.6x crop factor), Samsung NX/Sony Nex (1.5x crop factor) or Canon EOS/Sony a7,a7r (full frame, results are as you would see on an OM2).
 
Well they won't mount directly on an OMD, it's not OM mount. They are however excellent lenses, so I'd certainly look at having something you can keep full use of them with. I'm loving my Zuiko 50mm f1.4 on my new A7R, I don't yet have the 85mm though I am hovering over the buy button on one as my Nikon one is far too big!
 
Thanks for the replies. I've become a master at procrastination; every day I decide something different, from sticking to film to buying a canon 5d Mk1. Sometimes it seems that reading reviews becomes an end in itself, rather than getting out and taking pictures. One decision I have made, is that I'll either keep these lenses, or I won't, so some progress has been made.

You can use your Zuikos on a 5D via a cheap adapter. You don't get any focusing aids with the 5D unless you buy an adapter with focus confirmation but if you can cope with MF you'll get good results from your old lenses, my Zuikos work well on my 5D.

As with Alan above, my Zuiko 50mm is quite stunning on my A7 but in my case it's a humble little f1.8.
